The RVCE or Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering is a private technical college. It is one the well-known engineering colleges in Bangalore. In the year 1963, this co-educational institute was established. The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. Today it has 11 engineering departments and one school in architecture and also an MCA dept. Al the department of the college is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and the college itself is accredited by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education. RV College of Engineering also ranks among the top 10 self-financed engineering institutes in India. The faculty is highly qualified and creates and ambiance for the students that would help in bringing out disciplined and skilled Engineers. Every year, the college admits over 1200 students for UG and PG courses individually. The admissions of UG and PG programmes happen based on the scores acquired in KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test), COMED-K and PGCET or GATE exam respectively.

RV College of Engineering offers a total of 12 UG programmes, 21 PG programmes and Doctoral studies. The college campus is set in sylvan surroundings and is spread across 52 acres of land. The college offers hostel facilities. There are 3 ladies hostel and 4 boys’ hostel.

    BTech – (4 year, fulltime) Rs.170, 000 / Annum; Rs. 6.80 lakh (total course fee) approx.

Mtech – (2year, fulltime) Rs. 60,000/ Annum; Rs. 1.20 lakh (total course fee) approx.

MCA – (3 years, fulltime) Rs. 55,000/ Annum; Rs. 1.65 lakh (total course fee) approx.

RVCE Admission

RV College of Engineering takes admission only of those students who have cleared the K-CET/ ComedK entrance examination or those who apply for Direct Admissions via management quota. 45 percent seats are reserved for K-CET scoring students and 30 percent of the seats are reserved for those who rank in COMED-K.

To apply in any course in the RV College of Engineering, candidates need to apply through the college website. B.E/ B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA are the courses that are offered.

Every year as the month of January starts so does the application process for K-CET (application fee: Rs. 650) and as for COMED-K, candidates can apply by the beginning of February.

The registration process for GATE (application fee: Rs. 750) begins in September every year. So, candidates applying for PG programs in RVCE will register accordingly.

UG Programs:

  The admission into Undergraduate Programs happen according the reservation norms of the Govt. of Karnataka that is laid down from time to time        and completely based on merit.

  As per AICTE norms, the minimum percentage of marks is followed

  For UG admissions, candidates must have passed 12th grade with Mathematics and Physics

  The final selections are based on KCET/ COMED-K/ JEE Main scores.

PG Programs:

  Candidates have to score a minimum of 50% in the PGCET entrance examination for admission

  General candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% in their graduation (BCA) or B.Tech.

  20% seats are filled through KEA counseling

  The final selections are based on PGCET/ GATE for M.Tech and KMAT/ PGCET for MCA.
